Masala Rava idli Recipe - Ranveer Brar


For Batter

1 cup curd, दही

1 cup Semolina, roasted, सुजी

1 Onion,finely chopped, प्याज

1 Carrot, grated, गाजर

½ Capsicum, finely chopped, शिमला मिर्च

¼ tsp Black pepper powder, काली मिर्च पाउडर

Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार

Ghee for greasing the Idli plate, घी


For Tempering

1 tbsp Ghee, घी

½ tsp Mustard seeds, सरसों के बीज

1 sprig of Curry leaves, कड़ी पत्ता

½ tsp Asafoetida, हींग

1 tbsp Gotta Urad, गोटा उरद

1 tbsp Chana dal, चना दाल


For Batter

  • In a large bowl, add roasted semolina, curd, onion, carrot and capsicum mix well.
  • Now, add salt to taste, black pepper powder and mix everything well.
  • Rest the batter for 15-20 minutes.
  • Pour the tadka over the batter and mix well.
  • Grease the idli steamer plates with ghee and pour the batter into each area of the steamer.
  • Steam the idlis for 15-20 minutes. Once done remove the idlis and keep aside.
  • serve hot idli with chutney and sambar.


For Tempering

  • Heat ghee in a tadka pan, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida, gotta urad, chana dal saute until light brown.
