Hasselback Potatoes Recipe - Ranveer Brar


3 medium Potatoes (आलू)

Salted water (नमक वाला पानी)

5-6 Cheese Slices – cut in strips (चीज)

2-3 fresh Green Chillies – thinly sliced (हरी मिर्च)

fresh Coriander Leaves (धनिया पत्ता)

fresh Mint Leaves (पुदीने के पत्ते)

½ tbsp Red Chilli Flakes (रेड चिल्ली फ्लेक्स)

2 tbsp Mayonnaise (मेयोनेज़)

a pinch Degi Red Chilli Powder (देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर)

For Salad

½ medium Onion Rings (लच्छा प्याज)

½ cup mixed Bell Pepper – julienned (बेल पेपर)

fresh Coriander Leaves (धनिया पत्ता)

a pinch Chaat Masala (चाट मसाला)

a pinch Degi Red Chilli Powder (देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर)


  • Firstly slice potatoes as thinly as possible but not all the way thru leave ½ inch on the bottom.
  • Then blanch the potatoes in boiling water for 2 minutes.
  • Now remove and let it cool down, then start adding sliced cheese in between the slices of the potatoes.
  • Place them on a baking tray and add sliced green chillies in between, then add some coriander leaves, mint leaves in it.
  • Then sprinkle some red chilli flakes and then add some more sliced cheese.
  • Place in a preheated oven at 175°c for 20-25 minutes or until cooked.
  • Remove and keep aside for a minute, meanwhile speed some mayonnaise on the serving plate then place the baked potato then spread some more mayonnaise on the potato and place some salad on it then garnish with degi red chilli powder and serve immediately.

For Salad

  • In a bowl add onion rings, mixed bell peppers, coriander leaves, chaat masala, degi red chilli powder and mix everything properly. Keep aside for further use.
