Ingredients

For Poha Mixture

1 cup Pressed Rice (पोहा)

⅓ cup Water (पानी)

1 cup Curd (दही)

For Rava Mixture

1 cup Semolina (रवा)

⅓ cup Water (पानी)

1 cup Curd (दही)

For Tempering

2 tbsp Oil (तेल)

1 tsp Mustard Seeds (सरसों के बीज)

1 inch Ginger – chopped (अदरक)

2-3 fresh Green Chillies – chopped (हरी मिर्च)

1 sprig Curry Leaves (कड़ी पत्ता)

Other Ingredients

Salt to taste (नमक स्वादानुसार)

1 tsp Fruit Salt (फ्रूट साॅल्ट)

1 tbsp Oil (तेल)

Process

For Poha Mixture

  • In a bowl add pressed rice, water, curd and mix everything properly and keep aside for 15-20 minutes

For Rava Mixture

  • In a bowl add semolina, water, curd and mix everything properly and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.

For Tempering

  • In a small pan heat oil and add mustard seeds, ginger, green chillies, curry leaves saute for half a minute and keep aside for further use.

For Assembling Poha Idli

  • Firstly with the help of your hand mix the soaked poha mixture vigorously until mashy.
  • Now in a bigger bowl mix rava mixture, poha mixture, salt, tempering and mix properly.
  • Meanwhile, place the steamer on high flames.
  • Then in the poha batter add the mixture of oil, fruit salt and mix it with light hands.
  • Now grease the idli mould with oil and add a big spoonful of batter and then place the mould in the steamer and steam it for 12-15 minutes.
  • Remove and let it cool a little and serve hot with chutney.
