Ingredients

For Dahi Wala Paneer

2-3 tbsp Mustard oil, सरसों का तेल

1 no. Bay leaf, तेज़ पत्ता

2 no. Green cardamom, हरी इलायची

1 no. Black cardamom, बड़ी इलायची

1 tsp Cumin seeds, जीरा

2 large Onion, diced, प्याज

Prepared curd mixture, तैयार किया हुआ दही का मिश्रण

2-3 no. Green chillies (less spicy & broken into half) हरी मिर्च

1 tbsp Tender Coriander stems with roots, finely chopped, धनिये के डंठल

Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार

500 gms Paneer, cubed, पनीर

1 ½ cups Water, पानी

2 medium Tomatoes, diced, टमाटर

1 tbsp Jaggery, chopped, गुड़

 

For Curd Mixture

1 ½ cup Curd, beaten, दही

1 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste, अदरक लहसुन का पेस्ट

1 heaped tsp Degi red chilli powder, देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर

½ tsp Turmeric powder, हल्दी पाउडर

1 tbsp Coriander powder, धनिया पाउडर

¼ tsp Cumin powder, जीरा पाउडर

 

For Garnish

Coriander sprig, धनिया पत्ता

Process

For Dahi Wala Paneer

  • In a handi or kadai, add mustard oil, once it’s smoky hot, add bay leaf, green cardamom, black cardamom, cumin seeds and let it splutter well.
  • Add onions and cook it well until translucent.
  • Add prepared curd mixture, green chillies, tender coriander stems, salt to taste and cook it for 5-6 minutes on medium flames.
  • Add paneer, water, tomatoes and let it simmer for a while.
  • Finish it with jaggery and mix well.
  • Transfer it to a serving dish and garnish it with coriander sprig.
  • Serve hot with roti or naan.

For Curd Mixture

  • In a bowl, add curd, ginger garlic paste, degi red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and give it a good mix.
  • Keep it aside for further use.
