
Dak Bunglaw Chicken curry डाक बंगला चिकन करी easy Chicken Aloo curry

Ingredients
For Chicken Marination
1 whole Chicken, (cut into big pieces) चिकन
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
3 tbsp Curd, beaten, दही
1 ½ tsp Degi red chilli powder, देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
½ tsp Turmeric powder, हल्दी पाउडर
1 tsp Coriander powder, धनिया पाउडर (optional)
1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste, अदरक लहसुन का पेस्ट
For Paste
1 tbsp Oil, तेल
4 Black cardamom, बड़ी इलायची
4 Green cardamom, हरी इलायची
1 tbsp Coriander seeds, धनिया की बीज
1 tsp Cumin seeds, जीरा
10-12 Black peppercorns, काली मिर्च के दाने
½ inch Cinnamon stick, दालचीनी
2 Bay leaf, तेजपत्ता
¼ cup fresh Coconut, grated, नारियल
½ inch Ginger, slice, अदरक
2-3 Garlic cloves, लहसुन
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
2-3 tbsp chilled Water, ठंडा पानी
1 tsp Degi red chilli powder, देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
For Red Chilli Paste
2-3 Garlic cloves, लहसुन
½ inch Ginger, slice, अदरक
2 Dry red chillies, सूखी लाल मिर्च
For Tempering
1 tbsp Mustard oil, सरसों का तेल
2 tbsp Oil, तेल
4 medium size Onion, slice, प्याज
Prepared Red Chilli Paste, तैयार किया हुआ लाल मिर्च का पेस्ट
3 medium size Potato, peeled, dice, आलू
1 medium size Tomato, roughly chopped, टमाटर
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
Marinated Chicken, मैरिनेटेड चिकन
1 ½ cup Water, पानी
⅔ cup Prepared Paste, तैयार किया हुआ पेस्ट
Fried Eggs, तले हुए अंडे
2 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped, धनिया पत्ता
For Frying Eggs
1 tsp Oil, तेल
5 Hard-Boiled eggs, उबले हुए अंडे
½ tsp Degi red chilli powder, देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
A pinch of asafoetida, हींग
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
For Garnish
Coriander sprig, धनिया पत्ता
Process
For Chicken Marination
- In a bowl, add chicken pieces, salt to taste, curd, degi red chili powder, turmeric powder.
- Add coriander powder, ginger garlic paste and marinate well and keep aside for further use.
For Paste
- In a shallow pan, add oil, add black cardamom, green cardamom, coriander seeds, cumin seeds.
- Add black peppercorns, cinnamon stick, bay leaf and let it splutter well. Switch off the flame.
- Add fresh coconut, ginger, garlic cloves, salt to taste and mix well.
- Add chilled water and transfer it into a bowl, add degi red chili powder and mix well.
- Transfer it into a grinder jar and grind it into a smooth paste. Keep aside for further use.
For Red Chili Paste
- In a mortar pestle, add garlic, ginger, dry red chili and grind it into a rough paste and keep aside for further use.
For Tempering
- In a large handi or pot, add mustard oil, oil once it is hot, add onion, and saute it until light brown in color.
- Add red chili paste, potatoes and saute it for 2-3 minutes on medium flame.
- Add tomato, salt to taste and mix well. Add marinated chicken and saute it well.
- Add warm water and mix well. Add prepared paste and mix everything well.
- Cover it with a lid and cook on medium flame until the chicken is cooked well.
- Add fried eggs and give it a boil. Add coriander leaves and mix well.
- Once the chicken is cooked well, transfer it into a serving dish, garnish it with coriander sprig.
- Serve hot with steam rice.
For Fried Eggs
- In a shallow pan, add oil, boiled eggs, degi red chilli powder, a pinch of asafoetida, salt to taste and fry on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
- Keep aside for further use.
