
Easy Rawa Idli & Appe एक रवा तीन recipes Semolina recipes
Wondering what special dishes to make for weekend brunch/snack? Look no further! Presenting, not 1, not 2 but 3 different recipes with sooji (Third recipe coming up soon!). All you need to do is prepare a base Rawa/sooji mixture and then play around with the tempering and other ingredients.. Let your imagination take over :)
Ingredients
For Rawa Mixture
1 cup Rawa , रवा
1 cup Curd दही
½ cup Water , पानी
Salt to taste , नमक स्वादानुसार
For Tempering
2 tbsp Oil , तेल
1 heaped tsp Mustard seeds , सरसों के बीज
½ tsp Fennel seeds , सौंफ़
10-12 Curry leaves, chopped , कड़ी पत्ता
1-2 Green chillies, chopped , हरी मिर्च
1 inch Ginger, chopped , अदरक
Panyaram/ Appe
Preparation time 10 minutes
Cooking time 10-15 minutes
Serving 4

Other Ingredients for Panyaram
¼ tsp Baking soda , बेकिंग सोडा
1 tsp Oil , तेल
1 medium Onion, chopped , प्याज
2 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped , धनिया
½ tsp Degi red chilli powder , देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
1 tbsp Ghee (for brushing) , घी
Rawa Idli
Preparation time 10 minutes
Cooking time 10-15 minutes

Other Ingredients for Rawa Idli
¼ tsp Baking soda , बेकिंग सोडा
1 tsp Oil , तेल
¼ cup Rolled Oats , ओट्स
¼ cup Boiled Sweet Corn , स्वीट कॉर्न
1 tbsp Ghee (for greasing mould) , घी
Rawa Uttapam Pizza
Preparation time 10 minutes
Cooking time 10-15 minutes
Serving 4
1 cup Rawa Mixture
For Pizza Topping
1 tbsp Oil, तेल
1 medium Onion, chopped , प्याज
¼ cup Broccoli, small florets , ब्रोकोली
½ cup Bell Peppers, chopped , बेल पेपर
Salt to taste , नमक स्वादानुसार
Other Ingredients for Rawa Uttapam Pizza
¼ cup Tomato ketchup/Sauce , टोमेटो केचप
Sautéed Veggies , पकी हुई सब्जियां
½ cup Grated Cheese , चीज
Process
For Rawa Mixture
- In a bowl add rawa, curd, water, salt and mix everything properly, keep aside for at least one hour.
For Tempering
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard oil, fennel seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, ginger and saute it for a minute and add it in the soaked rawa mixture and keep aside for further use.
Panyaram
- In a bowl take 1 cup of the rawa mixture and add onion, coriander leaves, degi red chilli powder, and the mixture of baking soda and oil.
- Mix everything properly and keep aside for 2-3 minutes.
- On the other hand heat a panyaram mould and brush it with some ghee.
- Now add 1 spoon-full of mixture in each section of the mould, cover and let it cook but not completely (the centre should be runny).
- Remove the cover and flip it on to the other side using a satay stick or icecream stick, cook both sides until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and serve warm.
Rawa Idli
- In a bowl add 1 cup of rawa mixture and add the mixture of baking soda and oil in it mix it properly.
- Now grease the idli mould with ghee and add the mixture in but to not fill it completely.
- Sprinkle some oats and boiled corn on it and put it in the hot steamer for 6-8 minutes.
- Remove and serve warm.
For Pizza Toppings
- In a pan heat oil and add chopped onions, broccoli, bell peppers, salt and saute for 2-3 minutes on high flames. Remove and keep aside
For Rawa Uttapam Pizza
- On a flat pan add a big spoon of rawa mixture and spread it evenly (not too thin, not too thick), and let it cook properly from one side.
- Now flip it on to the other side and apply the tomato ketchup, then add the sauteed veggies, and the grated cheese, cover and cook on low heat until the cheese is melted.
- Remove and serve warm.
