
Ingredients
1 tbsp Oil, तेल
½ tsp Mustard Seeds, राइ
¼ tsp Asafetida, हींग
2 tsp Green Chilli, finely chopped, हरी मिर्च
4 to 6 Curry Leaves, करी पत्ते
½ tsp Turmeric Powder, हल्दी पाउडर
1 ½ cup Raw Banana, boiled, mashed, कच्चा केला
½ tbsp Lime Juice, नींबू का रस
1 tsp Sugar, चीनी
Salt to Taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
2 tbsp Coriander Leaves, finely chopped, धनिया
Oil for deep frying, तेल
For Batter
¾ cup Gram Flour, बेसन
½ tsp Turmeric Powder, हल्दी पाउडर
Salt to Taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
Process
- In a mixing bowl, add raw banana, turmeric powder, green chilli, coriander powder and lime juice and mix well.
- Heat the oil in a deep non-stick kadai, add mustard seeds let it crackle, add asafoetida, curry leaves and saute on a medium flame for a few minutes.
- Add raw banana mixture, mix well and cook on medium flame for 2 minutes.
- Keep aside to cool completely.
- Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape each portion into a round ball.
For Batter
- In a mixing bowl, add gram flour, salt to taste and required water and mix well.
- Batter should have thick consistency to coat the vada.
For Frying
- Dip the round balls into the batter and deep fry in hot oil.
- Fry till the turn golden brown in colour from all sides.
- Drain on absorbent paper and keep it aside.
