Ingredients
For Paste
3 cups Whole Masoor dal (washed & soaked overnight) भीगी हुई मसूर दाल
4-5 no. Garlic cloves, लहसुन
2-3 no. Green chillies (less spicy & broken into half) हरी मिर्च
½ inch Ginger (peeled & roughly chopped) अदरक
⅓ cup Semolina, सूजी
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
¼ cup Curd, beaten, दही
2-3 tbsp Water, पानी
For Masoor Dal Tikki
4 medium Potato (boiled & diced) आलू
¼ cup Whole masoor dal (washed & soaked) भीगी हुई मसूर दाल
2 tbsp fresh Coriander leaves, chopped, धनिया पत्ता
1 tsp Degi red chilli powder, देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
½ tsp Cumin powder, जीरा पाउडर
¼ tsp Coriander powder, धनिया पाउडर
2 sprig Curry leaves, chopped, कड़ी पत्ते
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
4 no. Green chillies (less spicy & chopped) हरी मिर्च
1 medium Onion, chopped, प्याज
1 tbsp Oil, तेल
For Tadka
1 ½ tbsp Oil, तेल
½ tsp each small Mustard seeds & cumin seeds, छोटी राई और जीरा
2 sprig Curry leaves, कड़ी पत्ते
2-3 no. dry Red chillies, broken into half, सूखी लाल मिर्च
For Masoor Dal Dhokla
Prepared Tadka, तैयार किया हुआ तड़का
Prepared Batter, तैयार किया हुआ बैटर
½ tsp Lemon juice, नींबू का रस
1 tsp Baking soda, बेकिंग सोडा
1 tsp Oil, तेल
1 tbsp Butter, cubed, मक्खन
For Appe
Prepared Batter, तैयार किया हुआ बैटर
½ tsp each Baking soda & oil, बेकिंग सोडा और तेल
1-2 tbsp Butter, cubed, मक्खन
Other Ingredients
½ tsp Oil for greasing, तेल
1 tsp Coriander leaves, chopped, धनिया पत्ता
For Garnish
Lemon wedge, नींबू की फांक
Coriander sprig, धनिया पत्ता
Process
For paste
- In a bowl, add soaked whole masoor dal, garlic, green chillies, ginger. Semolina, salt to taste, curd, water and mix it well.
- Transfer it to a mixer grinder jar and grind it into a smooth paste.
- Keep it aside for further use.
For Masoor Dal Tikki
- In a bowl, add boiled potatoes, soaked whole masoor dal, coriander leaves, degi red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, curry leaves, salt to taste, green chillies, onion, oil and give it a good mix.
- Divide the mixture into small lemon size balls and them a tikki shape or ant desired shapes.
- Heat oil in a pan, place prepared tikkis and shallow fry them until golden in colour.
- Transfer it to a serving dish, garnish it with coriander sprig and lemon wedge.
- Serve hot with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
For Tadka
- In a pan, add oil, once it’s hot, add small mustard seed, cumin seeds and let it splutter.
- Add curry leaves, dry red chillies and gently toss it for a minute.
- Keep it aside for further use.
For Masoor Dal Dhokla
- In a bowl, add prepared tadka, prepared batter, lemon juice, baking soda, oil and give it a good mix.
- Pour the batter into a greased plate or tray and top it up with fresh coriander leaves.
- Place the plate in a steamer and cook it for 15-20 minutes on medium flames.
- Once the dhokla is cooked, transfer it to a plate and leave it aside for a while.
- Demold the dhokla and cut into desired shape.
- Transfer it to a serving dish, garnish it with coriander sprig and lemon wedge.
- Serve hot with green chutney.
For Dosa
- Heat a nonstick tawa or pan and season it with oil.
- Pour a ladleful of prepared batter into a nonstick pan and spread it evenly.
- Apply butter and cook it for 3-4 minutes on medium flames until it’s cooked.
- Transfer it into a serving dish and serve hot with green chutney.
For Appe
- In a bowl, add prepared batter, baking soda, oil and give it a good mix.
- Take appe chetti, add butter, once it melts, add a spoonful of batter in the cavity and cook it for a while.
- Transfer the appe into the serving dish and serve hot with green chutney.
