
Ingredients
For Masala:
2-3 Dry Red Chillies
1 tbsp Cumin seeds
1 tbsp Coriander seeds
1 tbsp Chana Dal/ Split Bengal Gram
1 tsp Turmeric powder
For Khichdi:
2 tbsp Ghee
1 tbsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
1 tbsp Broken Cashew nuts
3-4 Garlic Cloves, minced
Few Curry Leaves
½ cup Carrot, diced
½ cup Green beans, diced
½ cup Green Peas
2 cups rolled oats
½ cup Toor Dal, boiled
Prepared masala
Salt to taste
1 tbsp Ghee
Few Curry Leaves
Dry Red Chilli
Cashew nuts, cut into halves
Thin Sev
Process
- Boil toor dal to mash consistency. Reserve the dal water.
- In a pan, add red chillies, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, chana dal and turmeric powder.
- Dry roast them for 4-5 minutes.
- Grind it into a fine powder. Keep aside till further use.
- Heat ghee in a pan. add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, broken cashews, garlic cloves and curry leaves, mix well.
- Add carrots, green beans and green peas, saute for a minute.
- Add oats and give it a mix. Add toor dal and reserved dal water as required, mix well. Add prepared masala and salt, cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Serve it in a bowl.
- In a tadka pan, add ghee, curry leaves and cashew nuts. Roast them for a minute.
- Pour the tadka over oats. Then top it off with thin sev.
