Ingredients

For Vrat ki Idli

1 ½ cup Barnyard millet, soaked, समा चावल

2 tbsp Sago pearl, soaked, साबूदाना

Rock Salt to taste, सेंधा नमक स्वादअनुसार

1 tbsp Curd, beaten, दही

¼ cup Curd, beaten, दही

1 tbsp Barnyard millet, soaked, समा चावल

1 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped, धनिया पत्ता

½ tsp Fruit salt, फ्रूट साॅल्ट

1 tsp Oil, तेल

 

For Peanut Mixture

1 tsp Peanut oil, मूंगफली का तेल

½ tsp Cumin seeds, जीरा

¼ cup Peanut, मूंगफली

2 Green chilli, broken into half, हरी मिर्च

½ inch Ginger, roughly slice, अदरक

Rock Salt to taste, सेंधा नमक स्वादअनुसार

few Coriander leaves, धनिया पत्ता

 

For Peanut Chutney

½ cup Curd, beaten, दही

4 tbsp Peanut Mixture, मूंगफली का मिश्रण

 

For Vrat ke Dosa

1 cup Barnyard millet, समा चावल

2 tbsp Sago pearl, साबूदाना

⅓ inch Ginger, grated, अदरक

2 Green chilli, finely chopped, हरी मिर्च

1 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped, धनिया पत्ता

2 cups Water, पानी

½ tsp Sugar, चीनी

1 tsp Ghee, घी

 

For Potato Filling

2-4 tbsp Peanut Mixture, मूंगफली का मिश्रण

2 medium size Potato, boiled & mashed, आलू

 

 

Other Ingredients

Peanut oil, for greasing, मूंगफली का तेल

Coriander sprig, धनिया पत्ता

 

Process

For Vrat ki Idli

  • In a bowl, add soaked barnyard millet, sago pearl, rock salt to taste and curd.
  • Transfer this into a grinder jar and grind into a smooth paste.
  • Add curd, barnyard millet and mix it well.
  • Add coriander leaves. In a small bowl, add fruit salt and oil and mix it well.
  • Transfer this mixture into the batter and mix it with light hands.
  • Meanwhile, place the steamer on high flames.
  • Now, grease the idli mould with peanut oil and add a big spoonful of batter and then place the mould in the steamer and steam it for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove and let it cool a little and serve hot with peanut chutney.

 

For Peanut Mixture

  • Heat peanut oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and let it splutter well.
  • Add peanut, green chilli and toss it well. Add ginger, rock salt to taste, coriander leaves and toss well.
  • Transfer this mixture into a bowl, once it’s at room temperature transfer it into a grinder jar and grind it coarsely.
  • Keep it aside for further use.

 

For Peanut Chutney

  • In a bowl, add curd, add prepared peanut mixture and mix it well.
  • Keep aside for further use.

 

For Vrat Ka Dosa

  • In a bowl, add barnyard millet, sago pearl. Transfer this into a grinder jar and grind it into a fine powder.
  • Transfer the powder into a bowl, add ginger, green chilli, coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Add water, sugar and mix it well.
  • Heat a skillet on medium-high heat, pour a ladle full of batter on the skillet.
