Chicken Badami Shorba Recipe - Ranveer Brar


1 tbsp ghee/ घी

300 gms chicken breast, chopped/ चिकन

1 inches ginger, sliced/ अदरक

1 fresh red chilli, sliced/ लाल मिर्च

¼ tsp turmeric/ हल्दी

1 tsp yellow chilli powder (optional)/ चिल्ली पाउडर

4 cups chicken stock/ चिकन स्टॉक

10-12 almonds, soaked & skinned, sliced/ बादाम

½ cup tovar dal, boiled (well churned)/ तुआर दाल

1 tsp garam masala/ गरम मसला

½ tsp freshly crushed black pepper/ काली मिर्च

salt to taste/ नामक स्वाद अनुसार

1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped/ धनिया


  • Heat ghee in sauce pan and add in chicken pieces. Sprinkle salt as per taste.
  • Saute chicken pieces for 2 minutes and take out on a plate.
  • In the same pan add in sliced ginger, fresh chilli and saute for a minute.
  • Add in turmeric, yellow chilli powder and stir for 30 seconds. Pour in chicken stock, and soaked almonds. Cook on a medium flame for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add in cooked tovar dal, garam masala, crushed black pepper and adjust salt. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Finish with coriander leaves and serve immediately
