
Ingredients
For Paste
1 tbsp Yellow mustard seeds, पीली सरसों
1 tsp Black mustard seeds, सरसों के बीज
½ tsp Turmeric powder, हल्दी पाउडर
½ tbsp Coriander seeds, धनिये के बीज
½ tsp Cumin seeds, जीरा
7-8 Garlic cloves, लहसुन
2-3 Green chillies (Less spicy & broken into half) हरी मिर्च
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
6-7 Black peppercorns, काली मिर्च के दाने
1 tbsp Mustard oil, सरसों का तेल
2-3 tbsp Water, पानी
For Marination
6-7 Rohu Fish/ River Fish, cut in darne, रोहू मछली
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
¼ tsp Turmeric powder, हल्दी पाउडर
¼ tsp Degi red chili powder, देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
½ tsp Mustard oil, सरसों का तेल
For Frying
Mustard oil (For shallow fry) सरसों का तेल
Marinated Fish, मैरिनेटेड मछली
For Fish Curry
2-3 tbsp Fried Mustard Oil, बचा हुआ सरसों का तेल
¼ tsp Mustard seeds, सरसों के बीज
1 ½ medium Tomato, cut into cubes, टमाटर
1 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped, धनिया पत्ता
2 tbsp heaped Prepared Paste, तैयार किया हुआ पेस्ट
1 tsp Degi red chili powder, देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
½ tsp Turmeric powder, हल्दी पाउडर
1 ½ cup Water, पानी
Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
2 Green chilies, slit into half, हरी मिर्च
½ tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped, धनिया पत्ता
½ medium Tomato, cubed, टमाटर
Fried Fish, तली हुई मछली
For Garnish
Coriander sprig, धनिया पत्ता
Process
For Paste
- In a bowl, add yellow mustard seeds, black mustard seeds, turmeric powder, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, garlic cloves, green chillies, salt to taste, black peppercorns, mustard oil and water.
- Transfer it to a grinder jar and make a smooth paste.
- Keep it aside for further use.
For Marination
- In a bowl, add fish, salt to taste, turmeric powder, degi red chili powder, mustard oil and mix it well.
- Keep it aside for further use.
For Frying
- In a kadai, add mustard oil, once it’s hot, add marinated fish and fry for 3-4 minutes or until 70% cooked.
- Transfer it to a tray and keep it aside for further use.
For Fish Curry
- In the same kadai, add fried fish oil, once it’s hot, add black mustard seeds and let it splutter well.
- Add tomatoes, coriander leaves and saute for a minute.
- Add prepared paste and cook it for a while.
- Add degi red chili powder, turmeric and mix well. Add water, salt to taste, green chillies and let it simmer for a while.
- Add coriander leaves, tomatoes, fried fish and cook for 5-7 minutes on low flame.
- Transfer it to a serving dish and garnish it with coriander sprig.
- Serve hot with rice.
