Paneer Pepper Fry | South Indian Style Spicy Paneer Recipe
Spicy Paneer Pepper Fry loaded with black pepper, curry leaves and aromatic spices. A perfect restaurant-style paneer dish!

Ingredients
For Paste
- 3-4 medium Onions, प्याज
- 4-5 no. Green Chillies (less spicy & roughly chopped), हरी मिर्च
- 5-6 no. Garlic cloves, लहसुन
- 1 inch Ginger (peeled & roughly sliced), अदरक
- 1 tbsp Tender Coriander stems (roughly chopped), धनिया के डंठल
- 2-3 sprig Curry leaves, कडी पत्ते
- 6-7 no. Cloves, लौंग
- 1-2 no. Black Cardamom, बड़ी इलायची
- 3-4 no. Green Cardamom, हरी इलायची
- ¼ inch Cinnamon stick, दालचीनी
- 2-3 tbsp Oil, तेल
- Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
For Paneer Pepper Fry
- 2-3 tbsp Oil, तेल
- 2 no. Garlic cloves (chopped), लहसुन
- 2 sprig Curry leaves, कडी पत्ते
- 1 medium Onion (sliced), प्याज
- 2 no. Green Chillies (less spicy & sliced), हरी मिर्च
- Prepared Paste, तैयार की हुई पेस्ट
- 1 tsp Black Peppercorns (crushed), कुटी हुई काली मिर्च
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder, धनिया पाउडर
- ½ tsp Degi Red Chilli powder, देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
- ½ cup Water, पानी
- 2 sprig Curry leaves, कडी पत्ते
- 1 large Tomato (cut into quarters), टमाटर
- Fried Paneer, तला हुआ पनीर
- Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
- 1 tsp Black peppercorns (crushed), कुटी हुई काली मिर्च
- 1 tsp Lemon juice, नींबू का रस
- 1 sprig Curry leaves (roughly torn), कडी पत्ते
- 2 tbsp fresh Coriander leaves (finely chopped), धनिया पत्ता
For Frying Paneer
- 800 gms Paneer (cut into cubed), पनीर
- Oil for frying, तलने के लिए तेल
For Garnish
- Coriander sprig, धनिया पत्ता
Process
For Paste
- In a bowl, add onions, green chillies, garlic, ginger, tender coriander stems and curry leaves.
- Add cloves, black cardamom, green cardamom, cinnamon stick, oil, salt to taste and mix it well.
- Transfer it into the mixer grinder jar and grind it into the smooth fine paste.
- Keep it aside for further use.
For Paneer Pepper Fry
- In a handi, add oil, once it’s hot, garlic, curry leaves, onion and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add green chillies, prepared paste and cook for a while until oil separates from the masala.
- Add crushed black peppercorns, coriander powder, degi red chilli powder, water and cook for a minute.
- Add curry leaves, tomato, fried paneer, salt to taste and let it cook for another 4-5 minutes on medium flames.
- Finish it with crushed black peppercorns, lemon juice, curry leaves, fresh coriander leaves and give it a good mix.
- Transfer it into the serving dish and garnish it with coriander sprig.
- Serve hot with malabari parotta.
For Frying Paneer
- In a kadhai, add oil for frying. Once it’s hot, add paneer and cook for 5-6 minutes until it’s light brown in colour.
- Transfer it into the absorbent sheet and keep it aside for further use.
