Upma Fingers

For Upma

2 tbsp Ghee , घी

2-3 fresh Green chillies, chopped , हरी मिर्च

2 sprig Curry leaves, chopped , कड़ी पत्ता

1 inch Ginger, chopped , अदरक

2 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped , धनिये के पत्ते

2 tbsp Ghee , घी

½ tsp Cumin seeds , जीरा

½ tsp Mustard seeds , सरसों के बीज

2 cups Water , पानी

Salt to taste , नमक स्वादानुसार

½ tsp Turmeric powder , हल्दी पाउडर

1 heaped tbsp Curd , दही

1 cup roasted Bombay Rava , भुना हुआ बाॅम्बे रवा

Oil for frying , तेल तलने के लिए


For Fresh Salad

2 medium Tomatoes, julienned , टमाटर

½ medium Onion, sliced , प्याज

½ small Purple cabbage, shredded , पर्पल पत्ता गोभी

Salt to taste , नमक स्वादानुसार

1 fresh Green chilli, chopped , हरी मिर्च

4-5 Curry leaves, roughly torn , कड़ी पत्ता

½ small Lemon juice , नींबू का रस

1 tsp flavourless Oil , तेल


For Chilli Garlic Mayonnaise

5-6 cloves Garlic, chopped , लहसुन

1 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped , धनिये के पत्ते

1 tsp Red chilli flakes , रेड चिल्ली फ्लेक्स

½ cup Mayonnaise , मायोनिज



For Upma

  • In a Kadai heat ghee and add green chillies, curry leaves, ginger, coriander leaves and saute for half a minute.
  • Now bring it to one side and on the other side heat ghee then add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, let them crackle and then pour in the water, mix everything together.
  • Then add salt, turmeric powder, curd, roasted bombay rava and mix everything properly and continue cooking until it soft dough or its comes together.
  • Remove on a greased tray and even it out then keep in the fridge to set properly.
  • Once set properly remove it out from the tray and cut in fingers then deep fry in medium hot oil until golden brown and crispy. Serve hot with fresh salad and chilli garlic mayonnaise.


For Fresh Salad

  • In a bowl add tomatoes, onion, purple cabbage, salt, green chillies, curry leaves, lemon juice, flavourless oil and mix everything properly and keep aside for further use.


For Chilli Garlic Mayonnaise

  • In a bowl add chopped garlic, coriander leaves, red chilli flakes, mayonnaise and mix everything properly and keep aside for further use.
