Raw Banana Fry

For Boiling

5 nos. Raw Bananas

Salt to taste

½ tsp Turmeric

For Stir Fry

2 tbsp Oil

1 tsp Pepper corns

A pinch Asafoetida

½ tsp Mustard Seeds

½ tsp Cumin Seeds

5-6 Garlic Cloves

5 Dry Red Chilies

5-6 Curry Leaves

Salt, to taste

½ tsp Coriander Powder

½ tsp Turmeric

2 tbsp Coconut, grated

1 tbsp Lemon Juice


  • Heat water for boiling. Slit the bananas and put in water.
  • Add salt and turmeric. Cover with a lid and boil till it is cooked.
  • Remove the bananas from the water, peel them and chop them in to cubes. Keep aside till in use.
  • Now in a pan, heat oil. Add pepper corns, asafoetida, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  • Add garlic cloves and saute till brown. Add red chilies and curry leaves and saute for few seconds.
  • Now add the chopped bananas and stir fry for few seconds.
  • Season with salt and add all other ingredients and stir fry everything together.
  • Turn off the flame and serve hot.
