Instant Dal Tadka

Prep: 15 minutes | Cook: 20 minutes | Servings: 2

Ingredients

2 tbsp Ghee

1 tsp Ginger, chopped

1 tsp Garlic, chopped

1 medium Onion, chopped

1 Medium Tomato, chopped

1 tsp Red Chili Powder

1 tsp Cumin Powder

Salt, to taste

½ tsp Turmeric Powder

1 ½ Cup Moong dal, boiled

For Tadka

2 tbsp Oil

½ tsp Mustard Seeds

1 tsp Cumin Seeds

2-3 Garlic Cloves

2-3 Dry Red Chilies

5-6 Curry Leaves

Process

  • Heat ghee in a pan. saute ginger, garlic till fragrant.
  • Add onion and saute till golden brown. Add tomatoes and cook for few minutes.
  • Add red chili powder, cumin powder, salt and turmeric powder. Mix well.
  • Add moong dal and toss everything together. Add water and cook for 8-10mins.
  • Now to prepare tadka, heat oil in a tadka pan. add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  • Add garlic, red chilies and curry leaves. Pour this tadka on the dal and mix.
  • Serve hot.
