Dahi Paneer

Ingredients

For Marination

500 gms Paneer (पनीर)

1 tbsp Oil (तेल)

Salt to taste (नमक)

¼ tsp Turmeric powder (हल्दी पाउडर)

1 tsp Degi Red Chilli Powder (देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर)

1 tsp Dry fenugreek leaves (कसूरी मेथी)

 

 

For Tempering

2 tbsp oil to lightly sear (तेल)

1 tsp Ginger – chopped (अदरक)

3 medium Dry Red Chillies (सूखी लाल मिर्च)

1 Black Cardamom Seed (बड़ी इलायची)

500 gms yoghurt (दही)

½ tsp Degi Red Chilli Powder (देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर)

½ tsp Turmeric Powder (हल्दी पाउडर)

1 tsp Coriander Powder (धनिया पाउडर)

1 tbsp Boiled Cashew Paste (उबले हुए काजू का पेस्ट)

 

For Garnish

Beaten Yoghurt (पीटा हुआ दही)

Chilli Oil (चिली ऑइल)

Mint Powder (पुदीना पाउडर)

fresh Mint (पुदीना)

 

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients for the marination together and add paneer
  2. Sear the paneer lightly and keep aside
  3. In the same oil used for searing , add the ginger , sweat , add the spices and sauté for a minute
  4. Add the yoghurt mixed with spice powders and cashew paste to this and simmer for 15 minutes
  5. Add paneer to the gravy when simmered and garnish with mint , mint powder and beaten yoghurt , serve hot.
