Chilli Chicken Pineapple

Ingredients

For Frying Chicken

1 cup Chicken breast – cut in cubes (चिकन ब्रेस्ट)

Salt to taste (नमक स्वादानुसार)

¼ tsp Degi red chilli powder (देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर)

2 heaped tbsp Maida (मैदा)

1 heaped tbsp Corn-starch (कॉर्न स्टार्च)

1 small Egg whites (अंडे)

¼ cup Oil (for frying) (तेल)

 

For Sauce or Gravy

2 tbsp Oil (तेल)

1 inch Ginger – chopped (अदरक)

2-3 cloves Garlic – chopped (लहसुन)

2 Green chillies – chopped (हरी मिर्च)

1 Star anise (चकरी फूल)

1 medium Onion – big diced (प्याज)

1 small Red bell pepper – big diced (लाल वॉल पेपर)

1 small Green capsicum – big diced (हरी शिमला मिर्च)

1 tbsp thick Soya sauce (सोया सॉस)

½ tsp Brown sugar (ब्राउन शुगर)

½ cup Pineapple – cubed (अनानास)

1 tbsp Chilli sauce (चिली सॉस)

Corn-Starch Slurry (कॉर्न स्टार्च का लिजाम)

1 tsp Vinegar (सिरका)

 

For Corn-Starch Slurry

¼ cup Water (पानी)

1 tsp Corn-Starch or Arrowroot (कॉर्न स्टार)

 

For Garnish

Fresh Coriander leaves (धनिया पत्ता)

 

Process

For Frying Chicken

  • In a bowl add chicken, salt, degi red chilli powder, maida, corn-starch, egg whites and mix everything properly.
  • Now fry this in medium hot oil until golden brown and crispy. Remove on absorbent paper and keep aside for further use.

 

For Sauce or Gravy

  • In a pan add oil, ginger, garlic, green chillies, star anise and saute for a minute.
  • Now add onion, red bell pepper, green bell pepper saute for 1-2 minutes and add thick soya sauce, brown sugar, pineapple, chilli sauce, mix everything properly add some water, corn-starch slurry mix and bring it to a boil.
  • Now add vinegar, fried chicken and toss it properly cook for a minute.
  • Switch off the flames, serve it in a plate and garnish with coriander leaves.
