Chicken Vindaloo

Prep: 10 minutes (+ marination time) | Cook: 40 minutes | Servings: 2


Vindaloo Paste

1 cup red chilli, soaked in vinegar

½ tsp black peppercorns

½ tsp coriander seeds

½ tsp cumin seeds

½ tsp cinnamon sticks

½ tsp ginger roughly chopped

2-3 garlic cloves

1 tsp vinegar

500 gms chicken, cut

For Gravy

1 tsp Oil

1 medium onion, finely chopped

Coriander, for garnish

Yogurt, for garnish


  • To make the paste, add all the ingredients and blend them smooth. Now marinade the chicken and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add onions and sauté for a minute, then add the marinated chicken and cook until moisture releases.
  • Add water accordingly and cook through.
  • Garnish it with coriander sprig and beaten yogurt.
  • Serve hot with roti or rice.
