Chicken Momos

Ingredients

Momos Dough

1 cup whole wheat flour/गेहुन का आट्टा

1 ½ cup refined flour/ मैदा

Salt to taste/ नमक

1 tsp sugar/ शक्कर

1 tsp white vinegar/ सिरका

Water as required/ पानी

 

Chicken Filling

½ cup green onion, chopped/ प्याज़

1 tbsp tender coriander stems/ धनिए के डंडियाँ

salt to taste/ नमक

1 tsp soy sauce/ सोया सॉस

1 tbsp garlic paste/ लहसुन पेस्ट

1 tbsp ginger, chopped/ अदरक

300 gms chicken minced/ चिकन कीमा

 

Momos Chutney

4-5 tomatoes, cut into half/ टमाटर

2 dried kashmiri red chillies/ सुखी सबूत मिर्च

Salt to taste/ नमक

1 cup water/ पानी

1 cup peanuts/ मूँगफली

3-4 garlic cloves/ लहसुन की कलियाँ

1 tsp coriander seeds/ साबुत धनिया

 

 

Process

  • Knead the dough using whole wheat flour, refined flour, sugar, vinegar and salt. Dough has to be semi soft. Keep aside to rest for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile to make fillings in a mixing bowl add all the ingredients and mix well.
  • Once the dough has finished resting, lightly flour a work surface, and roll out the dough into medium size thin disk. Stuff the filling into it, give the desired shape to momo and keep aside.
  • Steam the momos for 15 minutes in the steamer.
  • Remove and serve immediately with momo chutney.
  • For momos chutney heat oil in pan add tomatoes, kashmiri red chillies, salt and water. Allow it to cook for 5-6 minutes.
  • Meanwhile in another pan dry roast peanuts, coriander seeds for 2-3 minutes.
  • Into a blender add tomatoes along with its remaining water, peanuts mixture, garlic cloves and blend it into a smooth paste.
  • Serve this chutney with momos.
