Chicken Kori Ghassi

Ingredients

For Masala
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp peppercorns
  • ½ tsp fenugreek seeds/ methi seeds
  • 3-4 broke dry red chilies
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
 For Gravy
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil/ olive oil
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 3-4 cloves
  • 1 tbsp garlic, chopped
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 500 gms chicken, curry cuts
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • handful of coriander leaves
  • ½ lime juice (optional)

Process

  1. Heat oil in kadhai and add cumin seeds and peppercorns. Saute onions and ginger garlic paste until turns golden brown in color.
  2. Now add chicken and add turmeric, salt and saute for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add red chili powder, coriander powder and coconut milk. Cover and allow it to cook.
  4. Add little water if required.
  5. When chicken is cooked remove and serve immediately with roti or steamed rice.
