Chatpata Italian Aloo

2 tbsp Oil (तेल)

5-6 cloves Garlic – chopped (लहसुन)

1 fresh Green Chilli – chopped (हरी मिर्च)

1 inch Ginger – chopped (अदरक)

2 cups Baby Potatoes (छोटे आलू)

½ tsp Chilli Flakes (चिल्ली फ्लेक्स)

½ tsp Dried Oregano (सूखे अजवायन)

½ tsp crushed Coriander Seeds – lightly toasted (कूटा हुआ धनिया)

Salt to taste (नमक स्वादानुसार)

¼ tsp Turmeric Powder (हल्दी पाउडर)

a few Mint Leaves – roughly torn (पुदीने के पत्ते)

¼ tsp Dried Oregano (सूखे अजवायन)

½ small Lemon Juice (नींबू का रस)


For Garnish

fresh Mint Leaves (पुदीने के पत्ते)

Lemon Wedges (नींबू की फांकिया)



  • In a kadai heat oil and add ginger, garlic, green chillies saute them for half a minute.
  • Then add baby potatoes, chilli flakes, dried oregano, crushed coriander seeds, salt, turmeric powder and mix everything properly then sprinkle some water and cover, let it cook completely on medium heat.
  • Once potatoes are cooked, add mint leaves, dried oregano, lemon juice and give it a final mix.
  • Remove in a serving bowl and garnish with mint leaves and lemon wedges.
