Bread Dahi Upma

Ingredients

For Soaking Bread

6-8 Bread Slices – chopped (ब्रेड स्लाइसेज)

2 tbsp Curd (दही)

Water (पानी)

Salt to taste (नमक स्वादानुसार)

 

For Tempering

3 tbsp Oil (तेल)

1 tsp Mustard Seeds (सरसों के बीज)

1 tsp Whole Urad Dal (गोटा उड़द)

1 tsp Chana Dal (चना दाल)

1½ tbsp Peanut (मूंगफली)

1 sprig Curry Leaves (कड़ी पत्ता)

1 inch Ginger – chopped (अदरक)

2-3 fresh Green/Red chillies – chopped (हरि या लाल मिर्च)

1 medium Onion – chopped (प्याज़)

Salt to taste (नमक स्वादानुसार)

Water (पानी)

½ medium Tomato – chopped (टमाटर)

1 tbsp Ghee (घी)

2 tbsp Coriander Leaves – roughly torn (धनिया पत्ता)

 

For Garnish

Green Chutney (हरी चटनी)

Sev (सेव)

fresh Coriander Leaves (ताजा धनिया पत्ता)

 

Process

For Soaking Bread

  • In a bowl add curd, water, salt and mix once then add chopped bread slices mix properly and keep aside for further use.

 

For Tempering

  • In a kadai heat oil and add mustard seeds, whole urad dal, chana dal, let them crackle and add peanuts and saute for a minute then add curry leaves, ginger, green chillies, chopped onion and saute until translucent.
  • Now add salt, water and mix everything properly then add the soaked bread and mix it properly.
  • Continue cooking for 2 minutes and then add tomatoes, ghee and finish with coriander leaves.
  • Switch off the flames and remove in a serving plate and garnish with green chutney, sev and coriander leaves.
