Beetroot Sheera

Prep: 10 minutes | Cook: 30 minutes | Servings: 2

Ingredients

5 tbsp Ghee

5 grated large beets, grated

1 litre milk

80 gms sugar

Pinch of salt

½ tsp cardamom powder

2 tbsp almonds, chopped

2 tbsp pistachios, chopped

Process

  • Heat ghee in a casserole, add the beetroot and roast for 5-6 minutes.
  • Add milk, stir well.
  • Cover and cook on simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  • Remove the lid & start stirring till it dries up.
  • Add sugar and mix well till it melts, keep stirring to avoid any lumps from forming.
  • Add salt and cardamom powder. Mix well.
  • Garnish with almonds and pistachios.
  • Serve hot.
