Gujrati Yam Bake


Ingredients:

For Yam Mixture :
• Boiled Yam Pieces : ½ no.
• Oil : 1 ½ tbsp
• Mustard Seeds : ½ tsp
• Curry Leaves : 10 -15 nos.
• Grated Coconut : 1 tbsp
• Turmeric Powder : ½ tsp
• Red Chilli Powder : ½ tsp
• Salt : to taste
• Lemon Juice : ½ no.

For Green Peas Mixture :
• Ghee : 2 tbsp
• Cumin seeds : ½ tsp
• Green Peas : 1 cup
• Ginger Garlic Paste : 1 tsp
• Salt : to taste
• Red Chilli Powder : 1 tsp
• Chopped Coriander : 2 tbsp

For Sauce :
• Ghee : 1 ½ tbsp
• Cumin Seeds : ½ tsp
• Refined Flour : 1 ½ tbsp
• Coconut Milk : 2 cups
• Green Chutney : 1 tbsp
• Salt : to taste
• Green Chilli Paste : ½ tsp

For garnish:
• Sweet Potato Chips
• Red Amaranth Leaves : 1 no.
• Salt : to taste

Procedure:
• In a pan heat oil. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, grated coconut, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, boiled yam, salt, lemon juice and mix well.
• In another pan heat ghee. Add cumin seeds, green peas, ginger garlic paste, salt, red chilli powder, chopped coriander and mash the mixture.
• On a baking dish make layers of yam mixture and green peas mixture. Pour milk over it.
• Keep the bake dish in the oven at 170 to 180 degree Celsius for 10 minutes. Once baked remove the bake dish from the oven.
• To prepare sauce on a pan heat ghee. Add cumin seeds, refined flour, coconut milk, green chutney, salt, green chilli paste and mix well.
• Garnish with the prepared sauce and the sweet potato chips. Apply salt to the red amaranth leaves and place it on the bake dish.
