Steamed Vegetable Manchurian


For vegetable balls
• Cabbage, shredded- 1 cup
• Carrot, shredded- 1 cup
• Onion, sliced thinly- 1 cup
• Spring onion, chopped- Ό cup
• Garlic, chopped- 1 tbsp
• Ginger, chopped- ½ tbsp
• Green chilies, chopped - 1 tbsp
• Black pepper powder- 1 tsp
• Corn flour- as required
• Salt- as required

For Gravy:
• Garlic, chopped- 1 tbsp
• Ginger, chopped- 1 tbsp
• Celery, chopped- ½ tbsp
• Green chilies, chopped- ½ tbsp
• Black pepper- 1 tsp
• Salt- as required
• Sugar- 1 tsp
• Light soy sauce- 1 tbsp
• Vegetable stock- 2 cup
• Corn flour mixture-(corn flour 1 tbsp + 2 tbsp water)
• Coriander leaves. Chopped- handful

• Combine cabbage, carrot, onion, spring onion and other ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
• Shape the spoonful of mixture into small ball. If you find it difficult to form a ball then sprinkle little water to bind the mixture.
• In steamer put all prepared balls on banana leaf and steam it for 15 minutes or you can cook these balls in hot water for 5 minutes. Make sure temperature of the water should be 80 degree Celsius.
• After it is done keep aside.
• To make Manchurian gravy add 1 tsp of oil in wok and stir fry chopped garlic, ginger, celery and green chilli for few seconds.
• Add stock and let it to simmer. Now add soy sauce, salt, black pepper, sugar and corn flour paste and simmer for few seconds.
• Just before serving add Manchurian balls into gravy and bring it boil. Serve immediately.
• Garnish with chopped coriander.
• If you find gravy is too thick then add little stock to make it thin.
