Jhunjka Bhakri Soft Tacos


For Jhunka:
• Gram flour (Besan)- 1 cup
• Onion, chopped- 1 medium
• Turmeric- ½ tsp
• Green chili paste- 1 tsp
• Oil- 1 tsp
• Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
• Curry leaves- 5 to 6
• Coriander leaves, chopped- 2 tbsp
• Salt- to taste

For Bhakri (soft tacos):
• Jowar flour- 2 cup
• Makai ka atta- 1 cup
• Red chili powder- 1tsp
• Sesame seeds, roasted- 1 tbsp
• Coriander powder- 1 tsp
• Salt- to taste

For Marathi Style Salsa:
• Iceberg lettuce, thinly shredded- ½ cup
• Red cabbage, thinly shredded- Ό cup
• Cucumber, deseeded, julienne- ½ cup
• Tomatoes, deseeded, julienne- ½ cup
• Onion, sliced thinly- ½ cup
• Coriander leaves, roughly chopped- handful
• Red chili powder- 1 tsp
• Lime juice- half lime
• Salt- to taste


For jhunka:
• Heat oil in non stick pan. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, let mustard seeds to crackle then add onion, turmeric and green chili paste. Sautι until translucent.
• Add besan and sautι on medium flame for 2 minutes. Now add sufficient water and coriander powder. Keep stirring. Adjust salt. Keep thick pouring consistency.
• Remove from the heat and add chopped coriander, mix well.

For Soft Tacos :
• Make dough by using all ingredients. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
• Divide into equal portion and roll it thin medium size roti. Cook on hot tawa.

For garnish:
• Mix all ingredients in mixing bowl and toss well.
• To make tacos spread salsa on hot tacos, top of that pour jhunka mixture and serve immediately.
