Chawal Ki Semiya Konkani Style


• Rice, soaked, grind and keep overnight/ rice flour - 2 cup
• Fresh coconut, grated- 1 cup
• 2 tbsp oil
• Salt- to taste
• Coconut milk- 3 cup
• Jaggery, grated- ½ cup
• Cardamom powder- Ό tsp

• Wash rice and keep it soaked in water for 4 to 5 hours. Then grind it with little water until smooth paste. Keep this batter overnight for 6 to 7 hours.
• Now add fresh coconut and salt to taste. Grease the banana leaves with little oil.
• Put this mixture in semiya mould. And pour this mixture on greased banana leaves. Cook this semiya in steamer for 15 minutes.
• Meanwhile in small sauce pan put coconut milk and add jaggery. Mix until completely dissolved on slow flame. Add cardamom powder. Stir for another 2 to 3 minutes. Turn off the heat and keep aside.
• Add semiya in milk and serve hot or cold.
